Manage Your Online Reputation

When I’m looking to eat at a new place, I have to admit, the positive reviews on online review sites often are the deciding factor. The same can be said about negative reviews. They can be the straw that sends me to the competition and often detrimental to a reputation.

I’ve given some thought to perhaps the reviews are fabrications of an ex employee or put forward by the shop around the corner, especially those that don’t have a name or any trace back to the actual reviewer.

Law firms are engaging at recode levels through various social media channels, my advice would be, pay close attention to what is being said and be prepared to mitigate those damages. Reputation should be a law firms biggest concern and these action stapes are the first defense in protecting your brand:

Education is key. Law firms must have a good sense of self and a keen understanding of their online perception. An online search is a good starting point to get a sense of your online perception.

Create: Use that knowledge to develop a strategy and manage your reputation on an ongoing basis. Your strategy should includes a contingency plans for any crises that could potentially damage the firm's brand.
Reputation is everything, and with social media, it is more important than ever to consistently monitor your brand online. Staying aware and having a strategic plan in place will arm you with the tools to effectively manage your firm's reputation online.
