The crisis that just unraveled, is it as bad as you think it is?

What is social media saying about your brand during this crisis? Social media is where most people go to voice their opinions and complaints. Google your brand and you’ll see which news sites are writing about your crisis as well as how often they’re talking about it and what they’re focusing on.

Next step, use your group notification system and inform your key team members such as the CEO, legal counsel and a head of marketing to start. If the crisis is moving fast or misinformation is spreading like wild fire, this list could include your entire Marketing Department and outside agencies like public relations.

Once the crisis team has been identified information should be distributed quickly and effectively. Timely communication is important so identify a plan in terms of when updates will be shared and how the information will flow.
