So, you’ve secured a positive article in a target media outlet and want to take some steps to repurpose efforts and enhance the coverage. There are a number of things you can do and below is a list to follow:
Read Adjust and Pitch. Ask yourself, is there another part of this that can be pitch to other media sources. Perhaps there is a different practice group or industry angle or a broader message that can be looked a larger context. Is the concept something local and make it national with some tweaking?
Internal PR. Internal communications should no be second fiddle. If there is news to share to promote cross selling or something that will spark an idea with others within your organization, do it!. Send an email with a link to the story or placement and celebrate the placement within.
Blog It Out Loud. Take the placement and think about an angel that would make a good blog post. Something that elaborates on the news article. Include a link to the story. If it’s an article you placed, shorten it to 300-500 words for a blog post an dhighlight where your attorney was quoted.
Social media. Share the media mention on social media platforms like Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook.
Bio on website. Post a short summary of the article highlighting your attorney and his/her quote. Make sure you link to the original article on the attorney’s bio page.
Press coverage on a current topic is worth highlighting. How will you take something and make it shiny and new today?
