HELP. Bad Story. Let’s Get Rid of That Link!


Recently several clients have asked us to help push down news or scrub when a Google search keeps showing a negative from several years ago. Somehow it still pops up first in the search engine.

It’s a common question. Anyone in the situation would like to have the negative news removed and disappear from search results. Unfortunately, a most of search results cannot be scrubbed. But fortunately, there are a few options to mitigate damages.

If you can, contact and try working directly with direct sources to take down the link that would be ideal. Most often that is a cumbersome process with not a lot of success.

What we suggest is to influence search engine optimization directly through content creation. Move that offensive story down by providing new content with super SEO. Write on a top that interests your clients, write a lot. Publish on blogs, in publications on your website.

Negative stories that come up in search results can cause issues and you should be prepared with talking points if asked about by a client. It’s worth putting new content out in any event and hopefully enough to punch the news you don’t want to a different page.
