Pitching reporters is an art. While the means may have changed over time, much of the fundamentals have stayed the same. Securing impactful placements is based on solid relationships with reporters against blasting reporters with generic emails is still no acceptable.
As a PR professional is in incumbent upon you to maintain awareness and be hyperaware to reporter area of focus. Reporters update their coverage on the social and LinkedIn pages and social media is an underutilized and powerful tool for building lucrative list.
Researching smarter, and make sure your pitches get in front of the right set of reporters to increase your rate of quotes and interviews!
